Midwest Custom Pools provides client-oriented design, construction and maintenance of residential and commercial pools throughout NE Kansas and Western Missouri. We specialize in custom concrete, as well as fiberglass, pools and spas. Our designs range from basic starter pools to unique water experiences that may include fountains, waterfalls, spas, and outdoor living areas. We utiliize the latest in computer technology and colored graphics to develop our designs. Our construction team has the ability to provide a "turn key" experience or work as a subcontractor with your contractor. Glen Westervelt- President
Glen Westervelt brings 33 years of Landscape Contracting experience to our team. He is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Business Management. Glen grew up in Manhattan, Kansas where he was involved in a family owned nursery business. Glen moved to Lawrence in the spring of 1986 and started Lawrence Landscape. He is involved in every aspect of each of the businesses in the Lawrence Landscape family (Lawrence Landscape, Midwest Custom Pools and LLI Tree Farm) and acts as President of each of them. His favorite part of his job is finding new challenges for his staff and developing long term relationships with his clients.
John Karrasch- Design/Sales
John is directing the company’s residential design efforts. John grew up in Savannah, Missouri where he farmed with his family. He obtained his degree in landscape architecture with a minor in community planning from Kansas State University in 1995. During college, John joined the Army Reserves. During his activation for Desert Storm, he received the Army Commendation Medal for his efforts while on active duty. After college, John joined the Urban Planning Group with HNTB Architects/Engineers of Kansas City. While with HNTB, John had the privilege of working on numerous projects, such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City Light Rail Initiative, Power and Light District, and the Kansas Speedway. After HNTB, John started a landscape design/construction company where his focus was on creative residential design. He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Knights of Columbus, as well as the Leavenworth, KS planning commission. John lives in Leavenworth with his wife of 20 years and their two sons.
